Project Synopsis

Overview

Citizens Energy Group is a broad-based utility service company, providing natural gas, thermal energy, water, and wastewater services to about 800,000 people and thousands of businesses in the Indianapolis area.

Challenge

CEG wanted to utilize UPK to help train new employees on existing systems, and to assist in training current employees when changes to existing systems or new systems were introduced and needed to set up a scalable development environment to support their Learning and Development team.

The Solution

Synergy advised CEG on the purchase, set up and configured UPK in their environment, and provided training for users and administrators.

Synergy supported CEG by assisting with the allocation and configuration of hardware for the UPK server (including web server and database configuration). User accounts were created for multiple UPK content authors at CEG. UPK was set up along with the Knowledge Center, a place for content authors to post content for use by others in the company.

14 people were also trained on the basics of UPK development, and support was continued beyond the initial training as the CEG users began developing and deploying content. Detailed documentation on the UPK setup and procedural documentation was also provided.
